LA CHOUFFE is an unfiltered blonde beer, which is re-fermented in the bottle as well as in the keg. It is pleasantly fruity, spiced with coriander, and with a light hop taste.
The St.Bernardus Abt 12 is the pride of our stable, the nec plus ultra of our brewery. Abbey ale brewed in the classic ‘Quadrupel’ style of Belgium’s best Abbey Ales. Dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It has a fruity aroma, full of complex flavours and excells because of its long bittersweet finish with a hoppy bite. (10,0% ABV) Worldwide seen as one of the best beers in the world. It’s a very balanced beer, with a full-bodied taste and a perfect equilibrium between malty, bitter and sweet. APPEARANCE: in a word beautiful. slightly cloudy pale yellow with a big white pillow for a head, excellent retention and high amount of carbonation, champagne like effervescense. it states “pour unhurriedly” on the bottle and this advice should be heeded as the head on this beer is unrelenting with a good amount of lacing on the glass. I have never given a rating of 5 on appearance…until now. SMELL: very sweet, champagne, white grapes, pears, apples, banana, lemon. very complex.TASTE: the nose follows the taste. it reminds me of sweet champagne. there is a lot going on here. The Belgians really like this beer and now I know why. the 8.5% alcohol is nearly imperceptible. bubbly and dry with white grapes, pears apples, banana and lemon. it’s not overly hoppy but I don’t care, everything is in balance and it works.PALATE: light body, highly carbonated with dry finish.OVERALL: I truly enjoyed this beer. Ben Franklin once said “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” and that sentiment certainly applies to this beer.

Choosing strawberry, one of the most noble of fruits, was easy: the complex sweetness of the fruit matches perfectly with the sourness of lambic, resulting in a unique balanced marriage of sweet and sour. The recipe was developed specifically for the ever-developing tastes in the US market. | Brie cheese, Maine lobster, barramundi/Asian sea bass, Bayonne ham, Balsamic vinegar salad, rosemary crusted lamb chops, candied almonds, sugared strawberries with fresh basil, mascarpone cookies or tiramisu, chocolate truffles, cheesecake, Pavlova, and meringue. Westmalle Dubbel is a dark, reddish-brown Trappist beer with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. The creamy head has the fragrance of special malt and leaves an attractive lace pattern in the glass. The flavour is rich and complex, herby and fruity with a fresh-bitter finish. It is a balanced quality beer with a soft feel in the mouth and a long, dry aftertaste. The Dubbel contains 7% alcohol.Since 1856 the monks have also been brewing a dark Trappist beer along with their table beer. Since the recipe was modified in 1926, they have been brewing slightly heavier beer. This is the foundation of todays Dubbel.The 33 cl bottles are distributed individually, in baskets of six or in 24 bottle crates. The Westmalle Dubbel is also the only dark Trappist beer available on draught in some 300 selected hotels, restaurants and cafes, from kegs of 30 and 50 litres. Dubbel Trappist continues to ferment, making the draught version slightly sweeter than the bottled version.Dubbel Trappist is also available in 75 cl bottles, in which the beer matures differently than the smaller bottles. You will particularly notice a more subtle aftertaste.

“Duchesse de Bourgogne” is an ale of mixed fermentation. It is a sweet-fruity ale with a pleasant fresh aftertaste. This ale is brewed with roasted malts and with hops with a low bitterness. After the main fermentation and the lagering , the “Duchesse de Bourgogne” matures further for many months in oak casks. The tannins in the oak give the “Duchesse de Bourgogne” its fruity character. “Duchesse de Bourgogne” has a full, sweet and fresh taste : it is a ruby red jewel of 6.2 % alc. vol., that best is served in a chalice-shaped glass between 8 and 12C.
